Pankop Clinic Equipment

Pankop is a small, remote community on the border between South Africa’s Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces, north of the capital Tshwane near the N1 highway.

When a construction company received a contract to build a small frontline community healthcare facility, the job entailed the entire project, including buildings, infrastructure and equipment.

The company was not able to supply everything the centre would need to service its patients, in particular specialised medical equipment. MCS was contracted to equip the entire healthcare facility.

The turnkey project began with essential medical equipment such as ventilators, blood pressure cuffs, ECG machines and items required for minor surgical procedures.

The project scope subsequently broadened with MCS supplying absolutely everything for the centre, from key medical equipment to beds, kitchen utensils and even garden equipment.

Pankop was a successful project in every respect enabling the construction contractor to manage one sub-contractor, simplifying project management. Ultimately the collaboration ensured patients were the winners.

MCS’ deep experience in the assessment and supply of essential medical equipment meant that the new facility was immediately functional after its opening – able to manage both patient emergencies and routine clinical procedures.
